Dear Brothers & Sisters of the IFTU.
The Pakistan WAPDA Labour Union (PWLU) and Pakistan Brick Kiln Labour Union (PBKLU) jointly condemn the murder of Comrade Hadi Salih, leader of Iraqi Federation of Trade Unions (IFTU), who has been shot on 4 January 2005 by assassins who broke into his home.
The leadeship of PWLU & PBKLU said "Mr. Hadi Salih was a brave labourer, like all other trade unionists. Comrade Hadi believed in peaceful solutions to working people's problems and his commitment to rebuilding the trade union movement as part of a democratic IRAQ has cost him and his family.
In expressing both the very complicated situation of his country as well as that of IRAQI workers and his commitment for bringing about change, Hadi's loss will be felt severely not only by Iraqi workers, but by all the trade unions of the globe.
