Dear comrade,
It was with deep sorrow that I and the CPSU (Community and Public Sector Union) heard of the murder of Hadi Salih. Our thoughts are with his family, and we ask you to pass on our condolences to them.
Not only was the assassination an attack on the trade union movement and a violation of the freedom of association and human rights, but it is a tragedy for his family, comrades and friends.
We can only hope that this will not discourage the many others who are fighting for freedom, justice and the right for workers to unionise and that Hadi Salih's ultimate sacrifice and courage will not have been in vain.
