Dear Comrade,
Both myself as Acting General Secretary and the ASLEF Executive Committee mourns with deepest sorrow and sadness, the murder and torture of the IFTU executive committee member and International Secretary Hadi Saleh (Abu Furat).
ASLEF feels deeply for the Iraqi people and mourns its martyred working class hero who played a significant part in formation of trade union movement and was a key campaigner in both the Arab and international spheres, over more than a quarter of a century, to make the voices of Iraqi workers’ heard and was a major defender of worker rights.
ASLEF fully supports the IFTU struggle in Iraq.
